A 107 mm wide thermal transfer head changes what you can put on a coffee bag. The U107 prints the roast date, batch code, net weight and a QR code in one pass across the full width of the pack - up to 107 mm by 214 mm in continuous mode - so the whole back panel is coded in a single hit instead of two or three passes with a narrower head.

It runs on vertical form-fill-seal machines, high-speed labellers, horizontal packaging machines and bag feeders. Intermittent and continuous modes are both built into the same unit, which matters on a coffee line running valve bags on one shift and flat-bottom pouches on the next.

Why 107 mm Matters on a Coffee Line

A 32 mm head fits a date code. A 107 mm head fits the whole label.

Coffee packs carry more variable data than most food packs: roast date, best-before date, batch number, net weight, origin or blend code, and increasingly a QR code for traceability. On a 32 mm head those go on in separate passes or get squeezed into small type. On the U107 they sit side by side in one print at 300 dpi, which keeps a 10 mm QR code scannable.

That is also why the head suits stand-up pouches and flat-bottom bags with a wide print window - the code does not have to be crammed into one corner of the film.

What It Prints

Roast date, production date, best-before date, batch and lot codes, net weight, origin and blend codes, 1D barcodes, 2D codes including QR and Data Matrix, logos and multi-line text. Fonts are vector, so type stays sharp when enlarged, and Windows TrueType fonts can be loaded.

Films

PE, PP, CPP, OPP, BOPP, BOPET, BOPA, PET, VMPET, VMCPP, aluminium foil laminates and paper-plastic composites - the structures used from a kraft paper valve bag to a metallised flat-bottom pouch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one machine cover both a valve bag line and a pouch line?

Yes. Intermittent and continuous modes are built in, and the body accepts 32 mm, 53 mm and 107 mm print heads, so one spare head covers a mixed line.

Does it need compressed air?

Yes, up to 6.0 bar dry air. The U107 is the pneumatic U series. If the line has no air supply, the electric S series is the alternative - send us the line details and we will confirm which fits.

How wide a code can it print in intermittent mode?

107 mm by 107 mm. Continuous mode extends that to 107 mm by 214 mm, which is the format that suits a full-width back panel.
